About United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawai‘i

United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawai‘i is a non-profit organization that has been providing services in the islands since 1959. We are part of a nationwide network of approximately 64 state and local affiliates that provide services, conduct public and professional education programs, and support cerebral palsy research.

Our focus is to positively affect the quality of life for children and adults with cerebral palsy or other disabilities with similar service needs. We also provide support for the families involved and provide education on preventing cerebral palsy and minimizing its effects.

Our goal is to empower people with choices and opportunities for independence.
We have a diversified funding base that includes: Aloha United Way, Department of Health – Early Intervention Section, United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawai‘i Foundation and the organization’s fundraising events.

United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawai‘i is also one of four independent non-profit organizations involved in an innovative collaboration called DiverseAbilities. The purpose of this partnership is to combine resources, reduce costs, and expand services in pursuit of strengthening each organization’s mission. In addition to United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawai‘i, DiverseAbilities includes Assistive Technology Resource Centers of Hawaii, Hawaii Centers for Independent Living, and Abilities Unlimited.
